MSR - Tent Stake Hammer

Category: Tent

This hammer is light, sturdy, compact, and just what you want if you have to pound tent stakes into harder ground. Plus, it's a fine sleeping comfort close to hand. Note claw.

i bought this stake hammer a while back and finally decided to review it. Amazing! I pounded out the most thinnest veal cutlet ever. The head is big and heavy, although it feels nice and light in my hand. I recommend it, like for sure. Best camping stake hammer ever! Also, the bottle opener works pretty good too.

I have carried many hammers over the years. Some lighter and others heavier. This one has them all beat. I admit I bought it mostly because of the great look but I do not regret it.

Awesome hammer and must have for MSR's carbon reflex 2 because stakes are required for set up. Sometimes a rock just won't do when setting up on hard dry soil. Lightweight and inexpensive, there's really no reason not to get it

Look, no one wants to have to pack a hammer. I get it. I agree. "Can't I just push the stakes in with my foot?" Well, you can until you can't, and that's usually most of the time. I've seen people carry mini sledgehammers. That's great until you have to carry it. This hammer is sturdy and pretty light-weight. The bottle opener is an added plus. Be an adult; buy a real tent hammer.

I haven't used the hammer yet but I already it's awesome. Caught myself aimlessly swinging it in the air at imaginary stakes. Can't wait to use it.

The $6 plastic hammer is just as effective and probably lighter. But let's be real, this thing is awesome. Buy it and pound your stakes with pride.

We got tired of using rocks, bottles and what have you to drive in our stakes. Having the right tool for the job is what MSR's Tent Stake Hammer does well. Lightweight, large strike surface for driving tent stakes (I prefer steel ones from REI) and easily removing these stakes when the party is over. This item has a new home in my gear box.

Ok, that's not saying much cause the last one was a cheap plastic type stake hammer, not that that hammer didn't work cause it did. This hammer is just so much nicer. I finally feel like I have a nice stake hammer to go with the rest of my nice camping gear. I do agree this would be to heavy for backpacking.

I'm not sure what this is for, but it looked kind of cute. A plastic mallet or a rock would probably work just as well for most of us, but maybe in extreme conditions it might be worthwhile, although in that case I would expect some kind of high tech non-slip wrap on the handle. It will probably outlast me.

I bought this for tent camping in rocky or hard-packed soil. Sturdy, light, and gets the job done. Really happy with this MSR product. It's also a no-brainer if you are car camping, and lets your kids be even more independent in pitching a tent. The bottle opener function is fun and a nice design element!

Tired of using rocks to drive stakes into tough ground at backcountry campsites, i noticed this tool on REI's site. 11 oz is substantial for backpacking, but the first use of this perfectly sized tool convinced me it is 'worth the weight'. Another great backpacking problem solver from MSR.

I bought this before my 5 day motorcycle camping trip. It can be pretty challenging planting stakes in some of the campgrounds we end up in. A few of the other guys carry small hammers and by the end of the trip, everyone was borrowing this one! Glad I purchased it.

I purchased the MSR Stake Hammer a month ago and couldn't be happier with it! It's lightweight and well built. The little bit of extra pack weight is worth it in my opinion. It's also a nice novelty to take to barbecues and get-togethers to open up those cold ones!

bought the msr version of a stake hammer for the simple reason msr gear lasts and when I need to smash stakes into rocky terrain I need to make sure my hammer won't break, going strong many backcountry high elevation camping trips

It's perfect - lightweight so it doesn't bog you down and sturdy enough to drive those poles in the ground. I do think the head should be just a tad heavier to give you a little more driving power.

Very useful, takes up little space in the bag/box, and not too heavy. I primarily car camp, but I would carry this on a short backpack trip. Much better than the rubber mallet it replaced.

I reluctantly bought this, but I'm glad I did. So much lighter than the hammer or rubber mallet I would have used. Light, easy to use, and does it's job. What more could you want?

Light weight and Awesome. I was using rocks for years and getting frustrated when the stakes would bend and wouldn't come out - this hammer does it all

I just used this item this past weekend, great purchase. Lightweight and easy to use. Already made recommendations to this with friends

This stake hammer made driving my Cyclone Tent Stakes a breeze, even in semi-hard soil.

Picked this up this past weekend. came in handy...
