First use was in torrential rain. Was worried about lack of rain fly but no need/ stayed bone dry! Large vestibule is nice. Took a small outdoor rug for that area- recommended. The easy standing space is a pleasure, carry bag very functional and footprint high quality. Glad we splurged on this. 4 instead of 5 stars as my husband said set up was a bit tricky and needed 2 people. Still love it.
Excellent tent for family or hunting. Super easy set up. Built in rainfly is legit and survived monsoon downpour the first trip I took with this beast, not a drip or drop inside. vestibule is huge, enough room to store coolers, packs and other gear without getting in the way of entering tent. So many internal pockets! Only knock is the drafty nature of this tent being that there is only the mesh netting zip door separating the inside of the tent and the open-air vestibule. Once staking is complete there is a couple inches of clearance between the ground and the bottom of the vestibule on both sides of the tent. This creates heat loss and wind intrusion. Solid zip door would have easily remedied this. Also more thought could have gone into ceiling zips to allow for star gazing. Overall solid weather-proof tent for the price.
I have slept in this about five nights in three different locations. The vestibule is great and protected my family during a wind storm that made it impossible to eat outside. It is not a huge vestibule but I could fit four camp chairs inside and sit. One of the main reasons I purchased this tent was the one piece design. I did not need to worry about installing an additional rain fly. The tent is supposedly waterproof and can be vented as is.
We camped by the beach the fog and dew made the inside top of tent super wet to touch and drip a little when touched or shook. This is my only complaint. I love everything else about this tent. But it should come with a separate rainfly to keep the wet out. Hopefully I am able to buy one separate to go with tent because I want to keep it.
You can’t beat a spacious car camping tent with garage and vestibule at a $400 price point. It’s a great value. Easy to set up and is constructed well. There are a few drawbacks with this tent, however.
Absolutely perfect tent for all season's, brilliantly sized for family of 4. the large and small vestibule are excellent additions for storage and/or quarters our large dog. Easy to erect with two people in 20min a little longer with one person. I'm 6'0ft tall and I'm able to stand up and walk around inside, Lots of inside storage pockets for quick and convenient access. I've taken it out on about 7 trips in dessert and tropical conditions. Even in really hot conditions with the windows open airflow is good. My only grief is that North Face discontinued the footprint for this tent and I haven't been able to find it ANYWHERE. I resorted to constructing my on footprint out of tarp material, which works great, however I would have preferred to have avoided the hassle of making my on.
I’ve read some. What I’ve reviews on this tent, but I have to say, before buying it you should know what you expect out of it. Since the front and back tent door is all mesh, it should be no surprise it doesnt retain heat like other tents. For a single wall tent this thing is great. I’ve used it for a year and camped in plenty of storms with high wind, and if you set it up in a good spot, use the lines and tie it down, then you should have no problems. Compared to a double wall tent of course it isn’t as “storm proof” and you shouldn’t expect that. This tent is an absolute beast and I love the room you have in it. The vestibule is probably my favorite part. You can put so much stuff under there and access it without trouble during a storm. The single wall and pole design make this thing fast and easy to setup. The poles are beefy and durable. I have no concerns with them at all. If you can’t find a footprint just use google or go to birth faces website. They still have it available. At the end of the day thought you should not expect this to be a 4 season or cold weather tent unless you have the proper gear. It’s a fantastic spring, summer, and early fall tent.
Cons: some reviews I’ve read point out that bugs like to congregate inside the vestibule. This is true. But I think this may just be because they like the color and then get trapped. Can’t fault them for it. I sprayed some Sawyer gear spray in there and they left.
This tent is awesome it will comfortably sleep 6 plus a baby’s crib and two dogs and gear. The quality is great the zippers a superb. Double stitching and windows and vents Wow! You can invite your friends and charge them rent. Drop your apartment and sleep on the road. Go native with this tent!
Really want to try this tent. It can’t find the 6 person footprint anywhere. Why offer a tent without the footprint?
Tent is bad, no protection from elements.

Are there any recommendations for setting up this tent on a smaller pad site (say 10' x 10' or smaller)? I know the vestibule is connected, so is there a workaround?
We do not offer alternative set up for smaller tent pads. Depending on the height of the actual tent pad, you can always guy out the vestibule garage (maybe prop up the poles) for this model. If you choose not to use the vestibule, you can always roll it up and out of the way.
