Salomon - XA Comp 8 CS WP Trail-Running Shoes - Women's

Category: Women's Running Shoes

Was so excited to get these as a nice birthday gift to myself. When the box arrived, it was taped, and when I opened the box, the tag was stuck in the middle and the shoes had obviously been worn because the “laces” were loose, and the treads were colored as if someone Had worn them around for a time before deciding to return them.

I love the fit, color, and warmth. But the lacing deal is stubborn had trouble equalizing the tension and releasing them. The little button always seems stuck and I have to force them. Going to cut them off and replace with regular laces.

I hike in a rocky, root laden terrain and these shoes give me a sure footing.

My college student daughter loves Salmon shoes. She just popped her head into my bedroom to tell me, “These are AWESOME!”

Looks like a solid nice trail shoe but will return... entirely too big I suggest ordering a size down. I thought they accidentally sent me mens instead of women...correct shoe just very large.

I’ve been wearing the same size Solomon shoes for 4 years and at least 10 pairs. These run small and are the first that absolutely do not fit.

This shoe provides more arch and toe support than the regular XA Comp 8 but my heel kept slipping out!

These definitely run narrow in the toe box. They’re also pretty heavy for sneakers and I have to say the footbed doesn’t have much flex or comfort. They had great traction on uneven surfaces but slid terribly on wet surfaces.

I’m not used to the climashield Salomon trail runners and they are a lot stiffer than I expected. So much so I had to go back to the Salomon shoes without it.

I bought the comp 7 last year and have been using them all spring. No rub spots, which I had with my last pair of Solamon trail runners. Very comfortable. Great price for what you get. I’ve used these on different terrain, packed down snow, mud, dirt, rocks- and liked them all times. My rubber crampons fit nicely over them. Kept my feet warm in the snow and cool in the heat.

I was my first time to try Salomon shoes, unfortunate this shoe was very bad for my foot, I did change the size thinking it was the problem it no, the problem is that the shoe is very heavy and not comfortable. I am not going to try salomone shoes any more. I looked for it because I have problem in my Aquiles tendons but this shoes is not good for it.

I really wanted to like these shoes because they felt cushiony to the feet and I needed a waterproof trail runner. However, I bought in my regular running shoe size (6.5) and they were really tight in the toe box but super loose on the heel. I'm not sure sizing down will help the heel issue as the top was already super squeezy. Sadly have to return.

I got this trail-runner to compare with the Salomon XA Comp 8 Trail-Running Shoe (NO "CS WP"). This shoe is much more sturdy than the other Salomon. For my light-use purposes, I do not need such a sturdy shoe at this time so this one is getting returned.

Fit great, waterproof. Only negative is the silly loop on the strings. It just flops around after I tighten the shoe because I cannot get it slide under the upper lacing. Otherwise, good shoe. Good cushioning and arch support.

I bought them for my daughter. Her first hike was wet and miserable. The shoes were the only bright spot. They fit great and kept her feet dry. Little break in needed and they handled the rough, rocky terrain very well.

I used to hike in running shoes as I disliked the old hiking shoes I had bought. I’m so happy I bought these shoes. They fit great and are supportive, but not too stiff like my old shoes.

These shoes are too tight to use my orthotics. I have purchased the same shoes but they were not waterproof. Maybe that is the problem? The last pair I loved...hoping I can fix this.

Shoes ties I don’t like it and paid it said $64.83 and return back next day I have paid Po charge return and got money back in my bank $51.83 so was not happy

Very comfortable. Easy on and easy off. Light weight. I did add better inserts because I have had issues with planters fasciitis in the past.

Love these shoes for trail walking. Lightweight, rugged and waterproof. I have had many pairs over the years. Perfect!

I love these shoes because I have plantar fasciitis and they give me the support I need. I had to go up a 1/2 size.

I bought this shoe to wear on a trip where I knew I would be walk a lot. It fits well and was comfortable.

On the trails, in the gym, running across college campus, feet stay comfortable safe and dry all day.

Love my shoes! My feet have never felt better. Comfortable, lightweight, waterproof, flexible.

I love these shoes. They kept my feet dry, warm, and comfortable while hiking this winter.

I had knee surgery and these give me the support I need. I love these shoes!!!

Complied with my wife's needs. She feels secure and Great!

Is the side (where the logo is) in a light green shade or is it a grey/white color?

The border around the logo is light green.

I'm planning to hike the Half Dome in Yosemite and do an across the country to visit NP's spring of next year, which would be half a year from now. Would these shoes hold up for all that? I'm a size 6. Should I get half a size bigger?

These trail-running shoes are a good choice for hiking half dome and most National Parks. However, these will not give you them same support as mid-hiking boots. For trail-running shoes we recommend ordering up a ½ of a size so your toes are able to spread on descents.
