Looking at Pack rain covers, REI, Ospery etc. I have a Gregory Z-35 day pack Med 35L & a medium Osprey Aether 70L pack. Would the duck's back 60L rain cover work for both? Or is it best to get the size which matches each pack as one needs them?

It's probably best that you get two rain covers for packs that are that different in size. Rain cover that fits your 70L pack will likely be too large for your 35L pack. Likewise, a rain cover that fits your 35L pack securely will be too small for your 70L pack. If you plan on getting only one rain cover, get one that fits your 70L pack as you may be able to cinch it down to fit your 35L pack.

The cover is secured by a perimeter shock cord and a secondary cord that crosses the back panel of a pack to further secure the cover.

Although the Black Hole MLC Convertible Briefcase is a 45 liter duffel (22.75 x 18 x 6.75 inches), the dimensions of the Duck's rain cover are not a good fit in the 40 Liter (21.5 x 13 x 11.75 inches) or lthe 60 Liter (25 x 15 x 13 inches) sizes. The 40 Duck's rain cover does not fit over the MLC completely and the 60 Liter raincover can be an odd fit and baggy in certain places.
