Jetboil - Coffee Press

Category: Camp Kitchen

At first I though this sucks so hard. But after turning it around like I the photo it worked 99% better. It's not perfect and I wish it had more of an o-ring design but for a cheap little press. It works for what I need it for. I grind a bit more course too and have no issues. Make sure you screw it in the right way.

It doesn't get much better and easier than this! Works great, super easy to use, store, clean, and is pretty durable thus far. Plus it all fits inside your Jetboil when not in use.

We've always gotten by with instant coffee on most of our camping trips but I've been curious about the Jetboil Press. I purchased this for an upcoming bike trip and did a test run this morning after reading some bad reviews. I'm currently drinking a fine cup of coffee. I used the grinder at the store with the coarsest setting possible. No debris in my cup, just a good cup of strong French Roast. I have a Jetboil Flash.

This French press worked exactly as described. It was an exceptionally convenient way to have real coffee on the trail! Seems fairly durable given how lightweight it is. The packaging includes instructions for how to pack all the pieces within the stove, though I found I preferred to pack the stem part separately so it didn’t rattle around. I’m looking forward to many more delicious camp coffees.

Up front, I don't use this in a jetboil pot. I was looking for something like the Snowpeak titanium french press, but I didn't have the cash for that particular product. I cook on a MSR Whisperlite International some times, and a homemade alcohol stove other times. Because I don't use something like a Jetboil or windburner, I needed a pretty flexible pot and french press option. Though this press is made for the jetboil press, it also fits perfectly in the camp cups that nest with nalgene water bottles. Lots of companies make these cups/pots. I use this press in an Olicamp cup, and it works great. I've made lots of coffees in it, and find that the grind needs to be pretty coarse to keep from having half of it in my mouth. It is easy to wash; I can use around 50mL of water to get it clean enough for the next use. The fit gets a little loose after using it, so I just push the plastic tines open a little before I press a cup of coffee.

Beats worrying about filters and extra equipment, simple and fits easily inside the jetboil for storage. Downsides, it's difficult to unscrew the bar sections sometimes, and coffee grounds can get through the edges, but you don't get this for fancy car camping you get this for the backcountry minimalist and for that I was happy

We purchased this press for our backpacking trip in Alaska. Used it 3 times. Love the fact that you don’t have to carry an extra pot as it works with the existing pot but, the quality is very poor. Flimsy and there were coffee grounds in almost every cup. Great idea but Jetboil needs to improve the functionality.

was stoked to buy this, then realized how poor the seal is inside the cup. I probably would've been eating coffee like one of the previous reviewers mentioned. Going to return it and find a better solution for the morning coffee needs. Bummer it doesn't sit well as it's an awesome idea..

As long as you use course ground coffee (the very definition of french press) it is perfect!! I use the press at least once week between work and camping. Everything fits in the JetBoil. Works just like a home french press. Cleans easily. Price is minimal for a simple add-on.

Got this as a gift. Used car camping and totally worth it when wanting the coffee you drink in your living room. Super easy set up- keeping track of the tools is easy if you remember to pack them in your jet boil. V cool toy to "show off" with for friends. Would recommend.

I've got nothing bad to say about this little press. Its compact easy to use and makes a better cup of coffee than any instant coffee. Use a coarse setting on a grinder just like for any other press and your good to go. Very happy with my purchase.

Didn't properly strain the coffee. Somehow the grounds get past the screen. I wouldn't be bothered by a few grounds but it was a lot that got past. Made for a bad cup of joe, wound up pouring it out and just using instant instead.

Tried this on the trail with my Jetboil (which I love). Because it frame is plastic with slots, the fit is not tight on the side of the pot. Ground coffee slips around the frame. Perhaps my coffee was ground too fine.

It works as intended so to speak. Doesn't effectively keep grounds from mixing with pressed coffee though. Consider it more of a Turkish coffee type of blend. For $9 it's better than nothing.

I love the idea of this thing but I've had limited success. Most of my attempts have given me as much coffee as grounds in my mug. I'm going back to instant coffee or percolator.

I bought this ,excited ! Unfortunately I took it to Zion and it failed on me. I used the jetboil and I press the coffee down, poured it into my cup. ... Coffee bean in my mouth.

I bought this to use whole camping, backpacking and hiking. It has far exceeded my expectations. I have even used it at home just because the coffee it makes is delicious

Worked as advertised, lightweight and useful. I like the fact that it takes up no additional space as it is totally self contained within your jet boil.

Easy to use and it stores in the jet boil. Slowly push down and the drain off the coffee into another cup to keep the coffee from getting too bitter.

Tested this out right away. Coffee tasted great with no grounds escaping past the mesh. Well made

Worked ok a lot of coffee grounds get past the plunger
