I was skeptical about these due to the amazing price, but there are great. Very lightweight with excellent vibram soles. I ordered one size up to account for thick socks and the sizing is perfect. Other reviews mentioned these are difficult to get on... I didn't find them more difficult than any other winter boot. You have to pull them on but they are snug once on, which is great for preventing snow from getting in.
These boots were so light I didn’t believe they would ever keep my feet warm. They did! I used to warm up my Sorals before going out but don’t need to do that anymore.
Before ordering I read the reviews, many said they were hard to get on (yes they were). However, after (loosening the laces as far as I could) my foot slid in and wowzee are they comfortable!
I had read the other reviews and ordered a 1/2 size up. I have small feet, normally wear a 6, but these still didn't fit. I couldn't get my foot in past the ankle. They seem like really awesome boots but the only person in my family they fit was my 7 year old daughter!
I purchased these as a clearance item online because I wasn't sure I would enjoy hiking in the winter. I was really pleased with these, despite not trying them on first. I hiked many times in the White Mountains of New Hampshire over the past winter, in several feet of snow and temps down to -10F. The boot are definitely waterproof and pretty warm. I have Reynaud's so my hands and feet are prone to poor circulation and tend to get cold very easily. These boots kept my feet very warm and only once did I need a footwarmer, while standing still and eating with friends at a summit for over 20 minutes during moderate wind. My only complaint is that they can be difficult to get into and take off. My suggestion is to put your finger into the loop at the top of the inner wool liner and pull it taut while putting your foot in or taking it out. If you don't, the material scrunches up and it's literally impossible to move further. Pulling the liner does the trick. These seemed to fit true to size. I normally wear a 9, ordered these in a 9 and had enough room to wear a thick pair of darn-tough socks.
I bought these boots for winter wear in Fairbanks, Alaska, and they are perfect for it. They have kept my feet warm and dry all the way down to -42F, walking on pavement, packed snow, and deep powdery snow. They are sturdy, very comfortable, and appear to be quite durable.
