Superior insulation. But the location of the anchors for the shoulder strap make it very prone to tipping over if you don't have _All your heavy stuff at the bottom of the cooler.
I know I’ll say this about all Yeti coolers, but the Hopper Flip 12 is the perfect size for what I need. I especially like the charcoal color which makes it subtle but more awesome still. The strong zipper and rubber bottom make it perfect for work or the wild. And thank you REI for having this amazing sale on already great products and gear from a company I trust and an outdoor retailer I’ve trusted and go to for years. Thank you REI.
I bought into the Yeti hype and bought the Hopper Flip 12 Soft Cooler because I wanted a new, compact, portable cooler that really kept things cold. After 2 separate day trips, the ice was about 75% melted in this cooler- really no better than a $20 Walmart cooler. Hugely overpriced/overhyped. I gave it 2 stars because the form factor is nice and it has good accessory options and carry strap.
I am very pleased with how this retains the cool temperature. I use it as a lunch bag as well as a weekend trip to the woods or beach. Am very satisfied with the quality of the material used. I also bought the 4lb. blue ice with this and it works wonderfully
I would recommend this to any serious outdoors person.
Great for a single day event but not continuous days in hot environments. Keeps drinks cold as advertised. The zipper is stiff but it prevents spills and leaks so I’m fine with that. I’m looking forward to trying it in the fall when it’s cooler to see if I can get multiple days use from it.
I read all the reviews and was so excited to try my new Yeti Flip 12. I've used it 3 times in the past week and generally have lots of water with little ice at the end of about 4-5 hours. Not what I was expecting for the price tag.
I enjoy the convenience of the shoulder and hand carry options. This is my second piece of Yeti I have purchased from REI, I also own two thermos's Love all of them! they are what they say they are.
It is the perfect kayak companion. Nice medium size for a long day on the river. Everything stayed cold.
