REI Co-op - Vaporush Windstopper Jacket - Men's

Category: Men's Jackets

Versatile jacket - can be worn over light shirt or layered over long sleeve running shirt and fleece pull-over for those colder days. Stands up to the wind as advertised. Right length and snug enough to keep your lower back covered. Compresses and easily packs small.

The fit on this jacket is phenomenal, and noticeably better than many REI brand items. For reference, I'm 6' 1", and 180lbs, and the Large is absolutely perfect. Slim enough to be worn with just a t-shirt, but enough space (especially with the stretchiness of the material) to easily wear a baselayer and fleece in colder conditions.

I was looking for a new fall jacket and wanted something to keep my warm on some evening bike rides. This suits me perfectly and is very comfortable. I'm not a hood guy so the hood bothers me at times but it's not a big deal. However it would be nicer if the hood was detachable.

The wind cuts right through all stretch panels. The fits nice but on a 51degree day and a 30 mph wind with 40 mph gusts I froze. Would recommend sizing up and using it like a shell or wear it on warmer windy days. Wish it only let the wind in at the pits for some ventilation.

I’m outside everyday rain or shine training dogs. This jacket is perfect for the hot summer rains. Kept me dry and offered nice ventilation without getting too hot. Its nice to be able to pack it and carabiner it to my hydration pack when the the rain clears up.

I bought this jacket for a trip to Seattle WA. It wasn't as waterproof as I was hoping, but it worked great at stopping wind and keeping me warm. Good for every day winter wear in SoCal

For mild cool conditions or layeing, example 40 degees, wind, during hike at 10000+, very comfortable, breaths perfective, later it rained a bit, still good.

Tried this on at the store. Roomy but not baggy and fits like a glove. Regretted that I left the store without it so I bought it online instead...

Super comfortable. Really like the fabric. Just wish it had a stowable hood.

The length of this jacket is one of its best attributes; it's quite long and so doesn't pull out from under a pack. The hood adjusts nicely, and that's high praise. Wife and I each have one and they get used in all seasons. These jackets also dry quickly when you're sweating it out. Frankly, it's just a great jacket for cutting that wind. So far we've had no durability issues and the wife has a dog carrier that this jacket zips over, so dog abrasion added as well.

This is my favorite jacket. It does everything advertised (windstopper and rain repellent Gortex). It is very light and not made for cold weather (I live in Ohio) but with its snug fit, windstopper fabric, high collar and extra long sleeves it is perfect for everyday use in the very cool fall and spring. I suspect it could be used as a shell with a layer underneath for added warmth when necessary. Fabric is comfortable.

Won't stop heavy weather but the Jacket performs exceptionally well on the water or in the mountains in lite to moderate conditions. Fit, design and build are way above average. Quickly became a go-to.

This is the first soft shell jacket i’ve owned, and frankly it was somewhat of an afterthought. I almost didn’t buy it, thinking i’d Use my rain coat as my outer shell for now. I actually use this jacket more than any other, because of the DWR coating (which hasn’t wetted out on me yet in light rains) and the wind resistance. I wear it to work and I wear it while hiking. It’s a big part of my life!

I liked the outside pocket high on the chest. Great for a cell phone.

Took it with me to Everest basecamp last year. Was pretty good and lightweight and breathable. Wore most of the time and material was very durable. Was like new after the two weeks trekking in the Himalayas.

I've been working (lift maintence) in it and climbing in it for the last month, love it. A light layer under this jacket makes for a comfortable cold day of climbing, definitely gonna see some winter use.

We purchased this jacket for our trip to Africa. It was worn allot. It held up kept him warm and looked great even after a month in the bush.

Awesome jacket. I have worn it to the summit of all 5 Washington volcanoes, use it for ski touring and snowboarding, and casual hiking.

The Jacket arrived a day early and fit perfect. I’ve used it at least 4 times and it performs as expected. Excellent value.

The best I could find for the price. Does what it said it would do. Love the hood, the best one I have worked with.

It came through in the rain after I forgot my umbrella

Perfect lightweight packable jacket with nice hood that can cover most helmets.
