Sorel - Explorer Joan Boots - Women's

Category: Women's Footwear

These boots are super cozy! The faux fur makes them feel like slippers and keep my toes nice and toasty - and I’m one of those “always cold” girls. The toe box is a bit narrow when worn with thick socks, so maybe size up a half size for a bit more room. They are also extremely light weight and easy to walk in - great for all day walking around town when a full blown winter boot would be too clunky and heavy.

I love clomping around in my Joan of Arctic boots so I was super excited to try these boots. These boots are so comfortable they almost feel like slippers on my feet. At first I was worried they were too snug, but I assure you, the fit is comfortable. The first time I put them on I was able to walk about 5 miles in the city without even a hint of a blister. The second time I wore them I took them out for a short hike in the mountains in VT and they did an awesome job of gripping slippery rocks and keeping my feet warm and dry! I have yet to put them on and not feel amazed by how comfortable they are!

Really warm & soft. Runs a little small. If you like to wear thick socks I’d recommend getting a half size bigger than you wear.

I’ve tried on at least a dozen boots searching for the perfect fit, comfort, support, style this season. I’ve tried Chacos (3 different styles), the Sorel Out & About, and several other brands. I didn’t want to spend $140 but decided to try it because they were so cute. They are so comfy and cute on and so supportive. I normally wear a 9 & 10 fit perfect. They meet the requirements my foot dr specified to look for too. Went on a walk in them and didn’t want to take them off after either. So happy. Finally found the perfect boot. And they’re waterproof and seem to have good nonslip soles too. Haven’t tried them in the snow or rain yet but will this coming week. Highly rec!

These boots are very small in size, very narrow. Be aware of this if ordering. BUT --- the color "quarry black" is shown in the photo as a dark brown, but in fact the true color of the boot is neither black nor brown, but a mid-tone gray, a "battleship gray" It is completely misleading. VERY disappointing when I opened the box. The photo must reflect more accuracy for customers.

I received these as part of a product test and wasn't sure how well they would work. They are cute, but they also perform well. We haven't had snow yet so I cannot attest to their function in really cold weather, but these kept my feet warm (not too hot) and DRY during some pretty rainy mornings watching my kids play soccer. I went through some big puddles, too, to test out the waterproof claim and no leaks!

I have several pairs of Sorel boots and shoes. I love Sorel and have rated my prior size 10.5 purchases 5 stars. I purchased these in a size 11 and they are ridiculously small, more like a size 10. They fit with no socks or maybe a pair of thin tights. They are cute but the color is not even close to anything resembling black. The medium gray color is nothing like pictured. I have no idea what Sorel was thinking with these boots.

These are the most comfortable winter boots I've ever had. It feels like wearing a sneaker that's fuzzy and waterproof, and has good traction. They have a removable insole so I replaced it with my custom orthotics, and I could wear them forever. Much more comfortable than my Uggs, so much so that even though I have a perfectly serviceable pair of Uggs still lying around I wore them once after wearing the Sorel pair for a while and haven't worn the Uggs since. It would be nice if they looked a bit more fashionable, but they're not bad, and the comfort makes up for any lack of cuteness. I'm bummed the clearance going on right now doesn't include my size, I would totally buy another pair for whenever I wear these out.

I bought the grey in a size 9 but I am a size 8 to 8.5. I first purchased the 8.5 but had to size up because they were a bit snug with medium weight socks. So I would recommend sizing up if you don’t like a tight toe box and want to wear medium to thick socks or size up only half a size for a comfortable fit. They have kept my feet warm and dry in 30 degree rainy weather. My only wish is that they had a side zipper for quick on/off but they aren’t too bad since they do have the tongue stitched up the sides so nothing slips and everything stays in place. They are waterproof but I sprayed them again before wearing them to keep them extra clean since they are a suede leather. And for a boot, they are extremely comfortable.

These are some seriously cute and comfortable boots! After reading the reviews I sized up 1/2 size to 7.5 (I wear 7 in everything and have a wide foot) and they are perfect. With a thin sock they leave a slight amount of room but you can tighten them up with the laces and with a thick sock they’re just right, not tight. The inside is a soft warm fleece, and the suede has a nice soft give to it.

I was so disappointed with the color. They are grey. They are also too small. Returning.

Definitely would not categorize these as black, as others have stated. They are a light grey/blue (possibly green). But NOT black. They are very comfortable and true to size I believe. I wanted a boot that was good for walking and not necessarily a "snow" boot.

My boots arrived and the color is off. I ordered Quarry Black (which is a greenish grey, exactly the color they looked online) and the trip around the toe and the heel is more grey on one boot and more green on the other. I will be returning. Otherwise these boots are amazingly light and comfy. They do run a bit small. I could probably go up a half size. They weren't terribly tight and possibly could just stretch out, but since the color is off, they are going back.

So happy to find these warm and cozy boots to replace my Joan of Artic pair. I love that they are lightweight.

I absolutely love these boots. I had been looking into getting a pair for a while, but never took the plunge because of the reviews of them being narrow. I have a pretty wide foot and was unable to take the suggestion of sizing up a half size due to the fact that I wear an 11 normally and that's the largest size they offer. I decided to try them on in store and was absolutely amazed that they fit! I absolutely love how light they are and how great they look!

I love, love, love these boots. They are comfortable to wear all day long (I walk a lot too) and they are super warm. Plus, they are very stylish (I get a lot of compliments on them when I wear them). I have been looking for a good pair of boots to wear in the colder months and glad I finally found these. I live in Tennessee where it doesn't get too cold, but I am from Ohio and return often. These boots worked well in both climates. I recommend.

First - these definitely run small. I’m a solid 7 and I got a 7.5 based on reviews and they fit perfect. I could’ve gone to an 8 for thick socks, so take that into consideration too. They’re very good quality and very comfortable. The color is much more gray and charcoal than the any type of black or brown that it might look like online, but they’re still very nice looking. Also they’re not bulky at all like some other winter boots, still cute!

These boots are very comfortable and warm. Easier to get on and off than many mid-height boots given the speed laces and the handy loop on the back. I have them in grey and have gotten quite a few compliments on how cute they are. They are more supportive than I first expected after hiking in them. I expect to live in them when the weather gets really cold. One caveat - they are so warm they'd likely be uncomfortable worn indoors for long.

Love these boots, but be warned they do run small. Bought 101/2 usual size is 10. Still too small. Can only wear with thin socks , short time.. narrow

I wore these boots several times in the rainy cold pacific northwest. They are great for walking around the city and also some light hiking. I also wore them on a trip to alaska and they were perfect for keeping my feet warm and dry.

I love these boots. Just got them and find they are very comfortable and warm. They do run narrow and the toe box is shorter than normal. They fit great with thinner well socks vs thick socks. This is my 5 th pair of Sorels. I find them comfortable and stylish. My only complaint regarding Sorels their sizing is inconsistent but then that means I can find a pair to fit since I have a long narrow foot.

I bought these last minute to go out to North Dakota in the winter for a funeral. They kept my feet warm and toasty in the 20 degree or less weather. Not sure about actual snow performance as it didn't snow while I was there, but they seemed to be decently grippy on ice. They were a little tight across the ball of my foot but after a couple wears were totally comfy.

Got compliments on my “legit boots” when I showed up in these in a snow storm in Chicago, which is saying a lot being that I’m from San Diego. I wanted something I could wear with jeans or my snowboarding pants. Been through a couple storms with these and they are awesome- no wet/damp feet, no slipping, just lots of warmth and comfort!

These boots run smaller and narrower than expected. Normally I wear a size 9, but the size 10 boots I ordered just fit and leave no room for wearing heavy socks with them.

I’m a size 8 but I have somewhat wide feet. after reading a few of the reviews, I ordered a size 9 and they fit perfectly. If I would have gotten my true size or even half size up, they would have been uncomfortable. Perfect boot just incorrect sizing. Even other size 8 shoes I own make this boot look like a loose 7.5.

I tried on the Timberland boots that look similar to these but they were uncomfortable and had zero arch support. These were as stylish as the other brand but they were super comfortable. The fact they are waterproof and really cute are just icing on the cake! Love them!

So stylish. So comfy. So warm. Great quality. But size up nice been a size 10 shoe for 25 yrs. these didn’t fit. When I went to the sorrel site everyone says you have to size up in sorrel. I just ordered the 10.5 size so fingers crossed they are a great fit.

Based on the reviews I sized up... I’m normally a 7.5 in regular shoes and sandals and 8 in boots and sneakers, so I tried on the 8.5 and they’re perfect. So comfortable, like walking on clouds. And warm; I’m looking forward to the Colorado snow soon!

Love ! Super comfortable and WARM. The young man who helped me try on several pairs of boots was extremely helpful and a joy to talk to..He’s one of your newer employees from Philadelphia...I regret I forgot his name....at the Medford Oregon store

For the camel color with the grey, what is the material of the grey part? Is that suede? To me, it looks like the very bottom of the toe box and behind the heel is full-grain leather, then the other parts of the camel brown are suede & grey a fleece.

The gray portion on the top of the toe and the tongue of the boot is a fleece like felt material.
