This is a great jacket. Definitely a more relaxed fit. Usually arc'teryx jackets fit slim/athletic and this is noticeably more relaxed even though I didn't size down and stayed with a medium. The high quality of the product is immediately noticeable. It is pricey, but well worth it, you'll wear it all fall and spring. It doesn't block the wind, but otherwise very warm and a perfect cabin sweater.
I own 4 of these in different colors. They are the best I have found for keeping me warm in the house or for going for a walk. They look great with a shirt. Have had no problems with pilling and have washed them many times. Yes, they are expensive but well worth the money.
The low rating is due to the sleeve length. I wear a 34" long shirt sleeve. The end of the jacket sleeves went beyond the length of my fingertips with my arms at my sides. Otherwise the fit was fine. I was looking to replace my 10 year old Arcteryx jacket and liked the look of the Covert, but sadly had to return it.
I use this jacket as a stand alone and with my Thorium AR and it works great for both. This thing wicks sweat like a beast. I went on a trip to DC and sweat through to my bag we were walking around so much and my bag had a sweat mark on it and the jacket was almost completely dry. I would highly recommend this jacket even at its higher price. It also looks very good for a night out on the town.
The construction is good but that's it. I bought this as a base layer and possible light layer. It really doesn't work for either. This was also to replace a polartec jacket. It does not stop wind at all not even a breeze. The material in the sleeves makes it incredibly hard to get the jacket over shirts. The forearm sleeve of the jacket is not proportional to the bicep part. It's much too small. Waste of $100+ should have just bought a polartec. Save your money don't buy.
This is a great warm and stylish jacket that I've received many compliments on. It can be layered under a shell, but is probably not really intended for that, and it's not very packable. My size seems to always fall between Arcteryx medium and large, so the large is a bit big roomy for my 6-ft frame, and the medium a bit tight. If I were always layering it, I'd probably go for the medium. The sleeves are also (as usual for Arcteryx) a bit too long. PS to Arcteryx--I wish you made this jacket in some better colors.
For fashion it's good, to stay warm outdoors it's not.
This jacket is fantastic. Comfortable, works great by itself or as a mid/outer layer depending on the context. I've been wearing it way too much since the day I bought it.
The fit was perfect or I would not have spent this amount on a fleece jacket. My previous fleece was 20 years old so I rationalized the price as modest over time.
Very happy with the fit, weight and overall quality of this product. I would recommend it for layering in cold temps or just to wear it as light jacket
I purchased this Fleece in the Autumn and wear it every weekend. Its perfect for chilly days and very comfortable.
I read a review somewhere else and someone says the fit is different than it used to be. I have a one year old one and am reviewing based on what I purchased last year. Arcteryx products always fit me perfectly. I'm 5'9" and 170 lbs and Medium always fits me perfectly. The new colors do look as if the fit has changed and the collar is higher. This is what I like about the Covert (last years), the collar isn't so high that it chokes you out. Most jackets this year have such high collars! I don't understand why....not comfortable. Mine is perfectly high and very comfortable. The fleece on this wears easily, however, requiring shaving off of the little balls that form. This shouldn't happen with how expensive this baby is. Also, this is very warm. Not a wind blocker, but warm. I would definitely not purchase this online, but fit in at the store first. The sizes look like they've changed. Based on other reviewers, it sounds as if the new line doesn't fit very well, so be warned. Buy last years model and you'll be happy, I know that...
The fleece feels ultra soft. I like that the logo is stitched (not printed) on the arm rather than on the chest like most brands. The pockets are lined with soft fleece and it's big enough to hold phones and wallets. Feels very warm on a cold windy day even with a t-shirt underneath. But the jacket runs small so size up. I'm 5'11'' 170lb. I normally wear a Medium, but that felt way too tight. Ended up with a large and very happy with it.
First off... I Love Arc'teryx...however some of their kit is cut a bit slim. I'm 6'3" and 250 and have an athletic build (34 waist 54 shoulders) and I have that the XXL is a bit snug. This jacket in XXL fits perfectly. It will see a lot of stand alone use on those chilly NORFLA winter mornings. I will also use it underneath my Arc'teryx SV hoodie when I get into anything colder. Great kit that I always expect from REI and Arc'teryx
I just purchased the Pilot color and I now have three of these jackets in different colors. The style, fit, comfortable fabric, and quality of the zippers and stitching are the best. I've used them as a midlayer for skiing and as a spring and fall jacket. I wash and dry them on delicate inside out and they still look like new with no pilling.
How can they change such a perfect jacket into this?
Bought this because of the fit. I tried many different jackets and I was impressed by the tailored look of this jacket. More of a casual jacket for the cool nights here. Or a nice layer under another jacket. This is the first arc'teryx jacket that I have bought.
I already have one in a different color but I liked it so much I purchased another one. These fleece cardigan jackets are warm and very comfortable. They can be worn casually but look sharp enough to wear them in a bit more formal setting if need be.
I bought this two week ago and I am pretty like this jacket, very warm and comfortable. This week I have traveled in Beijing,China and about only -2*c but very comfortable and warm.So like it but a little big for me,I am 80kg and 180cm highest.
I love all of Arcteryx's products. They are so well designed and constructed with quality materials. The styling leans more to the slim fit. This sweater jacket is just wonderful and will get lots of wearing for many years to come!
I bought an Arcteryx Cardigan at an REI garage sale for 29 dollars and it was a steal! I have worn this jacket in six different countries across four continents and it has served me well.
I bought this light weight fleece for myself this Christmas and absolutely love it. I don't typically like to wear heavy coats so this is a perfect in between option on a chilly day. Very true to size as well.
The Yukon color is not as pictured a light olive/green color! The true color is a light brown/mustard yellow - nothing at all as pictured! Why the false advertisement? So disappointing.
I have 2 jackets over the last 3-4 years and they are great Warm, comfy, casual perf with jeans and t-shirt underneath
This jacket is warm, by itself, and excellent as a mid layer. The fit provides for great comfort and mobility no matter the activity. Lightweight.
This is a great jacket and the greenish "anaconda" color is my favorite. Why was this color discontinued? Please bring back.
I haven't worn it much, but it looks great. I have the grey one. looking forward to fall when I can wear it more
Excellent jacket as a layer or by itself! Very versatile. Feel comfortable wearing it to work and outdoors.
Great jacket for all occasions. Slim fit to layer under other apparel for harsher climates.
Well made, slimming look, great quality and certainly with the money.
Fabric and fit are first rate. Suitable for outdoor and indoor wear.
nice to wear out in town or on the mountain hiking
