Salomon - XA Pro 3D GTX Trail-Running Shoes - Men's

Category: Men's Running Shoes

I usually love Salomon products, but I have had to return these twice in less than a year. The sole came off the first time, and now they have lost their waterproofing. I wear these almost daily, but I really expect higher quality from Salomon.

These are excellent shoes. I have had a pair just like this, maybe the predecessor, for about 3 years. The only bad thing I can say is that after that period of time the pull to tighten feature is starting to slowly loosen up. It is incredibly convenient and has worked well but is starting to fade.

Made my feet hurt. Not enough support. I wish Salomon put the stability of the Quest 4D system in non-boot shoes.

I live in Canada now and I exclusively use these shoes for the winter months. Which is about 9 months up here. I love the grip and the waterproofing. I just purchased my 3rd pair and I couldn't be happier. Each pair I bought lasted 3-4 years and I wear them almost every day. I wear them hiking as well as just around town. In minus 30 weather, the last thing you want is cold feet.

Only reason these shoes don't get a 5 star rating is that the sole insert is cheap and has to be replaced for true comfort. Then the shoes become outstanding, especially in wet weather.

Purchased via garage sale as I've been to cheap to pay full price and I'll never go cheap again. For years I've worn XA Pro and hate them in winter because the wind and everything blows thru them and my feet then freeze. I wore these several times now in the snow, most recently on a blusterly snowy weekend and was able to ruck 8+ miles without getting cold feet.

Just got this pair of shoes and wore them to Puerto Rico. Climbed seaside rocks, walked in rain forest (muddy and wet trails and grounds), walked in beaches. Great light weight trail walking shoes that could handle both daily urban walking and casual outdoor activities. A bit longer than typical 11.5 shoes (e.g. Merrell and Columbia) but was comfortable.

I run - but I do it on a golf course on the grass. No sore knees or hips. But it is uneven footing sometimes and occasionally wet and that’s where these are invaluable. They are sturdy and can handle the off-road terrain, and my feet stay dry. Oh and they are very comfortable. Pricey for surw, but for what I put them through, it’s worth it.

Ok shoes runs narrow, first pair I got little to big can't feel my toes, feels like I'm not grounded enough so I got a smaller pair. Shoes also stiff. What I love is the waterproof, works pretty good, keep your feet warm during winter. But I tell you don't wear this thing during hot weather, otherwise your feet will soak with sweat.

I have had several generations of these Solomon shoes with and without the Gore-Tex… Specifically in the XA 3-D. They’re a great shoe as they fit well right out of the box and they wear well for trails. They’re a bit pricey but my feet love them and they’re the only shoe I own for hiking

I’ve owned 10+ pairs of Salomon Ultras (rotating 2 pairs now) of which I wear a size 10.5. I bought a pair of these XA Pro 3D CS shoes to test for a trek in 2019. I’m comfortably wearing a size 11.5 in the XA’s, a size I’ve never worn in my 4+ decades of life in any pair of footwear.

I constantly run outside and half the time it seems to be raining so I decided to buy a pair of waterproof shoes and I decided to try these out. Excellent shoe and I never have to worry about moving around in water filled shoes. I couldn't be happier.

I bought this 2 months ago for possible daily light hiking; closure system inadequate requiring repeated tightening and it is far from water resistant considering GoreTex construction; not worth the $$

Been wearing them for years. All great but one pair that was defective but neither REI or Solomon would cover them because of age. Sat in closet till I needed them but were too old. Was not happy.

Like all the cool kids, I hike with trail runners. While I’ve been disappointed by how many miles I can get out of some brands, Salomon has never disappointed!

I have bought 4 pairs of Salomon trail running shoes. Three of those pairs were Salomon XA Pro 3D trail running shoes. All 2 of 3 pairs experienced a separation of the sole of the shoe from the body of the shoes. These separations were several inches.Additionally, none of these shoes were water proof as advertised on the REI site and as printed on the shoes themselves. The price of one pair was refunded as the defect occurred during the 1 year warranty. The second returned pair was 2 weeks beyond the one year and REI refused to refund the purchase price claiming that the 5 inch separation of the sole and body of the shoe was not a defect. I found this to be incredible in light of REI's reputation for standing behind their products.
