La Sportiva - Bushido Trail-Running Shoes - Women's

Category: Women's Running Shoes

Both my husband and I bought these (he of course bought the men's version). That day, we took them out on a 6-7 mile trail run followed by another 4 mile hike. The shoes were light, sturdy and snug on our feet - they didn't feel sloppy with more room than necessary. My tendons don't like motion control shoes - normally I road run in minimalist shoes. I was really impressed that I had no problems! They have the feel of a semi-minimalist shoe but built for the trail. I am looking forward to my weekly trail runs with these!

I haven't had the chance to wear these hiking yet but I absolutely LOVE them for running and lifting. Definitely have good support throughout the shoe, they don't come untied, and you can replace the sole if you want/need something different and they have really good traction too. I normally wear a size 8.5 but I got a 9.5 instead so I definitely recommend sizing up for when your feet swell from being in them for a while

In looking for a minimalist shoe that could be taken across all terrain, I decided to try out the La Sportiva Bushido trail Runner. I've taken these shoes up and down steep rocky terrain, through rivers and creeks, mud and all other conditions. I am quite satisfied with their weight and ability to grip onto whatever I'm going over, but be warned that they are not the most comfortable shoe. The inside mesh sock does help somewhat absorb the shock of downhill running, but the shoe itself has little to no cushion. If that isn't important to you, then these are the shoes for you; however, those needing at least a little cushion should likely look elsewhere.

Context: my old hiking boots needed to be replaced and I was debating between a hiking boot or a lightweight shoe that I could use for approach and easy hikes (10 miles and under). Based on what I was looking for, the REI staff recommended this shoe. I have an old sprain on my ankle so I was worried about ankle support.

I'd been running and hiking in the wrong shoes and my feet, and in particular my arches, were really feeling the pain. I was new to trail runners and tried on several pairs ... When I tried on these La Sportiva, they fit like a glove and like they were made for my feet. Because of the price point, I didn't buy right away, but went home to think about it and do some research. I ultimately bought them (a half size larger, because they were quite snug across the toe when I first tried them on) and I have never looked back. It may sound crazy, but my feet and arches felt a hundred times better the very first run and have really not bothered me since. I wear them to hike as well. Today I wore them on run/hike that included very rocky and bouldered terrain ... The grippy soles and flexibility of a shoe were perfect and ideal. I've only had them a few weeks now, but so far I've worn them about 8 times and I could not be happier with this purchase.

These shoes have been amazingly comfortable and great on the trails - but sadly not durable. I’ve loved them but have a hard time wanting to buy them again as they have not held up as well as I’d expect from $130 shoes. The fabric in the inner ankle has rubbed off as seen in the picture - hope this fix this as they are otherwise great shoes

After trying on several pairs of trail shoes, this one fit the best without a doubt. Soles looked to be great for gripping the rocks on the trail. Previously have worn Saucony peregrine until they change the fit. I found the Sportiva sole does not grip the rocks as well as the Saucony and even slipped in a few places. Also the shoe could use a little more cushioning-found that the bottoms of my feet were sore the next day. Still will keep the shoes because a great fit is hard to come by. Will try using some inner soles to add cushioning and will use them for less rocky trails.

I've taken to using them for any type of running I do at this point, but I originally bought them with the intent of using them solely for Obstacle Mud runs for extra traction. Turns out they are the best pair of running shoes I've ever bought. They fit my foot perfect, they hold up in my mud runs, trails, road running etc and they are light and breathe well. They are my all time favorite shoe. I even wear them to work at times because I work in a rough terrain environment and my feet feel fine after a long day. Outstanding! I'm buying a second pair (seeing as the mud from my runs has started to ruin the color of them).

Ordered this show after reading the reviews- excited for it's durability, stability and traction. I went out for a run in the Franklin mountains, accessing my usual trails via an arroyo... Half a mile in I knew the shoes weren't gonna work. I could feel every rock, didn't feel they were exceptionally stable and felt the traction had too many gaps to really be comfortable when running over rocks (not boulders, but actual rocks.)

I took these shoes up for a 30 mile trail run straight out of the box. They felt great on my feet and were very comfortable. The trail I ran had long sections of wet rock, and steep rocky terrain; I felt that these shoes did not provide adequate traction at all (maybe about 10% better traction than my road running shoes). I was slipping on wet rock, mossy rock, and dry rock. There were several sections I was hiking up where, if it weren't for nearby tree branches for support, I would've slipped down. I was definitely disappointing for the price.

I purchased these after two trips to REI trying on different pairs of Trail-Runners. The second time I spent about two hours trying on three different pairs, walking around the store, and jumping up and down on "the rock". I went with these because they were so breathable, light, the footbox was perfect and my heel and ankle stayed in place. Not to mention having two eyelets at the top allowed me to tighten down my left ankle (which is a bit smaller) more than my right.

Had to swap out the insoles with a pair from my Nike Flyknits in order to resolve the arch problems I had wearing these! After the swap these became the perfect go to hiking shoes for all occasions from the redwood national park hikes to the rock backpacking trips in Utah/Arizona! I even tried river crossing with these and it dried about an hour after on a 53 degree Big Sur weather (swapped out wet socks for dry wool socks). I will be buying a second pair of these after having mine for 2 years just to have as back up. My first pair are still going strong and are not worn out!! LOVE THESE!

I bought these during REIs Labor Day sale as I was looking for a new pair of running shoes. I haven't been thrilled with the last couple brands of running shoes I've had -- I used to swear by asics and saucony but they've changed their shoe design in the last couple years to be more cushy and stiff, and so I was looking for something different.

I've had these shoes for 3 seasons now (2014, 2015, 2016) of trail running, hiking, and backpacking. I can only guess that I've put between 300-500 miles on them and they are just now starting to show signs of wear and tear. I have no hesitation of purchasing another pair because they have been my go-to for nearly every activity, every weekend. They have performed flawlessly on 15 14ers here in Colorado, keeping my foot stable and protected even on class 4 (the aggressive lug pattern has yet to slip up on wet and steep terrain). I've pushed them up to 15 miles in a day hiking and have had minimal blisters/discomfort. Great for scrambling, loose talus, tree roots etc on any trail. I've also gotten them fairly wet and have been surprised by how quickly they dry. I should mention that my feet are very slender and these fit the bill for me, but they might be not work for wide-footed folks. They are certainly not without their limitations- I don't think they would be comfortable on a trail run longer than marathon distance, and sometimes my feet can feel the hard plastic mid section that serves to keep them so solid on uneven terrain. I would still highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good weekend trail runner/ hiker!

Potentially one of the more comfortable trail shoes I've ever worn. I unfortunately had to return these because they do run just a little small and stop with half sizes after 10. But- they're amazing and super breathable if you are not in need of a size 10.5

Thought these felt good in the store, seemed to have the traction on the "mini hill". Tested these out on very easy hike in Griffith Park. Very soon after the start of the hike part of my right foot tingled and felt numb. Loosened the laces, and feeling came back, sort of. Shortly after, left foot same thing. As the hike went on, feet/toes went from numb to not so numb. Tolerable but unpleasant. Hike was only 2.2 mi up, but the shoes made it unfun. On the downhill, noticed that right knee was aching towards the end (working on a chronic knee problem that can now withstand up to 6-7 mi round trip without flaring up) and the entire hike was only 4.7 mi. As to traction - these had slightly more traction that my worn out Saucony Raptors which I wanted to replace because you need traction in the hills and mountains in and around LA. Not worth $130. I don't understand the rave reviews, but then feet are fickle. For reference, I am a solid size 7, bought 7.5, am 63 yrs old, 110 lbs and in pretty good shape.

I was looking for a shoe to replace my Brooks PureConnect as that model was discontinued. I have narrow feet, like arch support and need a strong heel pocket. At first - my heel did slip slightly in these shoes. But the width and support was right - so I took a chance. They have broken in amazingly. I now have the heel pocket that I desired. I do miss the cushiness of the Brooks - however these have a far more stable base. These are great for hiking, trail running, and running in general. I even wear them casually to walk to the park because they are that comfortable (normally I try to save my running shoes for just working out until they have too many miles - but I can't resist). They even do fine on a treadmill. Give them a couple runs to break in if the initial fit is close but not quite. I was pleasantly surprised and am purchasing a new pair.

I absolutely love these trail runners. I have had them for two years and am about to buy a new pair. I have used these through various streams and even ran a Tough Mudder in them! They handle beautifully and clean up like new! I am usually a size 8 but I purchased the size 8.5 and they fit great. They also have amazing arch support in them. Couldn’t be happier!

I felt these shoes excelled on the technical terrain I used them for (24 days in the High Sierra). This shoes handled uneven rocks, boulder hopping, and high agility situations with finesse! I agree with others comments that the sticky rubber soles work really well. I was worried that for this extended hike there might not be enough cushioning but I was pleasantly surprised.

After bunion surgery I discovered that my foot wasn’t comfortable in most of the shoes in my closet. These trail runners are a little stiffer than my regular running shoes and gave me the support I needed . As my foot continues to heal I will continue to wear these for walking, light trail hiking and running.

I bought these shoes for 2 weeks in S. Africa on safari. I wanted a shoe light enough to not take up too much room in my bag but sturdy enough for the bush. These shoes fit the bill! They were comfortable, durable and good looking. They saved my lower back when sight seeing around Cape Town.

Shoes are lightweight and the traction is incredible, but it lacks arch support. I have a really high arch and while they seemed comfy when I tried them on in the store, my feet ached while hiking. I made the mistake of not switching out the insoles before my 19 mile hike and by mile 5, my feet were in so much pain. These shoes lasted about 8 months before the hard plastic peaked through the fabric and gave the back of my ankle a gnarly cut. Thankfully I had ductape and plenty of bandaids with me.The bottom of the shoe still had life in them, but there was no amount of ductape that would keep the plastic in place. So in the trash they went. I would agree, these run a bit small. I'm a size 6 but I got these in a 7. Overall, I still would recommend them, just switch out the insoles.

I had actually bought the Akyra running shoes first, but found those ones to be very uncomfortable and too wide. The heel on the Akyra’s felt too thick and awkward for me. The Bushidos fit more snug on my feet and made me more comfortable for hiking trails that don’t need hiking boots. My only complaint is the inside of the sole of one of my shoes slips up occasionally and rubs against the side of my foot. I’ve had to take my shoe off during a hike to re-adjust, which was an inconvenience, but not enough to make me want to return. I’ve done some trail running in these as well and felt very comfortable not slipping. Overall a great alternative to when you’re doing hikes that don’t need a full on boot, or want to run around the trails. They’ve done well in the Colorado Rockies so far!

This is my second pair of Bushidos. They're the perfect combination of light & flexible, while also supportive and cushioned enough for long runs (20+ miles). They've carried me through training for and crossing the Grand Canyon with no hot spots or blisters.

I was looking for a shoe for trail running and even just hiking with better traction than I was using and these shoes are the perfect fit! They are very comfortable, light, but still have enough support. They do well in loose gravel, sand/dirt, and rock!

I needed a stable shoe and decided on this pair. They are flexible and still sturdy. I wear and 8 and bought this shoe in a 9. I wear THICK socks. I love them.

Great walking shoe. I took it on a trail run Saturday and let’s just say won’t be doing that again. I do not like feeling the rocks in my metatarsals...ouch!! I need more cushioning in the front it was too flat!!!

I've been looking for a nice pair of trail runners for over a year now and have had a tough time finding the right combination of style and fit. I'm not a fan of the flashy colors that are so popular in footwear lately and was looking for something a little more subdued yet still cool looking. When I saw the Bushido online, the colors and style were exactly what I was looking for, so I was hopeful that I would not be disappointed with the fit as I have been with so many other brands I've tried. The minute I took these out of the box I had a good feeling about them and thankfully they have lived up to my expectations. Very impressed by how light they feel and the fit is perfect. I usually wear a 10 and the 42 is just right. They are so comfortable I did not want to take them off they day they arrived. I'm not a runner, so I got them mainly for walking on trails and they have served that purpose well. Based on how light they are, I imagine they'd be great for running too. This is my first pair of La Sportivas and I am so happy with them that this may just be my go to brand now.

I really wanted to like these zhoes as they are recommended for narrow feet, which I have. I loved their fit - fantastic for narrow feet. After wearing twice, I had two separate hot spots. After wearing thicker socks while those hot spots healed, the back of one shoe rubbed against the back of my heel, created a third hot spot (I NEVER have these issues!).

These shoes are super super comfortable! I would say that these are my favorite pair of walking and hiking shoes. I'm using a size 8 in other shoes and I wear a 38.5 in these. I bought these in Dec 2018 and after 6 months of wear, the sides by the shoelace are wearing down and the inside of the soles are also wearing down too. I'm a little disappointed that they are wearing down already but I say that these 6 months have been amazing when I do go outdoors for hikes.

I bought the La Sportiva Bushido hiking shoes at the Portland, Oregon REI in April 2016. I explained to the REI professional staff (in detail) my main reason for a new pair of hiking shoes and two pairs were presented to me for trial 1) La Sportiva Bushido 2) Saucony Pereguine 5. Two hours later I selected the La Sportiva Bushido 9.5 (wide). Yes, these shoes do come in WIDE; but ensure to ask for that option. I am a size 9, but felt the size 9 a bit stubby. All said, on all types of terrain, I have logged well over 5000 miles on these shoes since April 2016 and just noticed that the sole nubs are worn flat; but overall the upper part is still in good shape. I will again buy La Sportive Bushido. These shoes are now tried and true and earned my trust for comfort and support during hikes between 5-10 miles a day.

Yes, they come in cool colors and are built well. The laces are too short though. Where am I going to get longer laces that match? They have good tread. If your foot is a little wide (not fat), then these are a tight fit. I wear these everyday to work as I work at a school and am outside walking a dirt track most of the day. P.S. I bought these on clearance at REI. I would never pay full price for these.

Were nice and lightweight to use. My pair is starting to brake down after few day use on daily hikes. Glues are not holding anymore and stitches are breaking. Maybe a quality broblem whit my pair only. Not o first pair of La Sportive.

These shoes are fantastic! I was set on buying a different pair until I slipped these on. They feel like they were made just for me. I hike around 30 miles in a weekend in the Appalachians, and they perform excellently! They have amazing traction, great breathability, are light and flexible, and are super comfortable! I don't know how I could ever find a better shoe than this!

I loved the fit of this shoe in the store, but my toe was at the end in a 42. I can't believe that I could not order on-line in a larger size like a 43 since the La Sportiva goes up to a 47.There are plenty of us long-footed women out there who love trails! I really like the fit since it had a narrow heel, nice arch support and roomier toe box.

I LOVE these shoes.

I bought these shoes to use primarily for hiking. They are super comfortable and feel like i'm wearing a sock that hugs my feet perfectly. I never get sore spots on my feet after a full day of hiking. The only downside is hiking in sand. The mesh near the toes literally sucks it in. So i don't recommend for that type of hiking.

I'm returning my size 7 because they are tight in the toe box and because they run a little small. Even when I switched out the ortho inserts my hips and knees hurt just walking around the house. Might be that I need a larger size than I wear in all other shoes but I'm not going to exchange due to the lack of good arch support.

These are my first pair of hiking shoes and I am so glad I bought them. Not only are they stylish but they are extremely comfortable. I bought them for a hiking trip and they made all the difference. The traction was perfect for the gravel Terrain and helped me from slipping and sliding when defending down the mountain side.

I've had these shoes for almost two months and have loved them I use them everyday to do a lot I'm always on the go all the time and these shoes fit me so much better than normal everyday tennis shoes I'm very impressed with this shoe I have shoes from this company for rock climbing so I knew theis company was good

I bought these for hiking on a recent trip to Ecuador and they were a great decision! They are much easier to carry around than my typical hiking boots and they did well on a snowy volcano, a dirt trail on a mountain, and in the Amazon rainforest. Versatile and lightweight, just like I wanted!

The only issue I had right off the bad was the shoe rubbing against my ankle bone with ankle length sock on. No issues with longer socks. Hiked in them and they breathe incredibly well. My feet were completely dry paired with a set of Merino socks. I'm very pleased with these shoes.

I went hiking in Southest Asia during the monsoons, and when my friends were slipping and sliding constantly on the muddy trails and were soon covered in mud, I only slipped once. These shoes are comfortable and pack down pretty compact. I would definitely recommend them!

I bought these shoes after purchasing a pair of Brooks trail shoes --- The La Sportivas are leaps and bounds above the previous pair!! So light and comfortable, yet great support. I will recommend these to all my hiking and trail running friends.

I have been wearing La Sportiva (for men) as my trail running shoes for a couple of years and love them. My girlfriend was wearing another brand and I suggested these shoes. After one run she was raving about how solid but light weight they were.

I bought these a few weeks ago and am breaking them in for a safari in Tanzania. So far they seem very comfortable. I like the color personally, but would have preferred more subtle nature colors for this trip.

I'm a hiker with a narrow foot and I like to wear a lightweight shoe. These fit the bill! They never slip on gravel or rocks and make me want to run (and I'm not a runner.) You can't go wrong with these!

I got to break these in this weekend on a 10 mile hike that had very mixed terrain and I have to say they did very well. Meet feet and legs felt great when I was done. I am very happy with these shoes!

These are incredibly light and durable. I’m used to their Raptor model but for quick trail runs these do the trick. Lots of support and even after aiming for mud puddles they clean up perfectly.

Use for everyday walking, hiking, mild sports, etc. would recommend. A great balace between a minimalistic Schwab and a running shoe. I typically wear minimal style shoes but love this one.

First and foremost, the shoe fits well. We were told in error that the shoes were water resistant. Should not have taken the info, rather researched it. Shoes fit and are comfortable.

The edges all around the tongue are unfinished and fraying terribly with loose bits of string all over the shoe. I don't want to even risk using these so I'm returning them immediately.

I have only had one opportunity to wear these so far, but it was a 6.5 mile hilly hike. My feet were happy the whole time...too bad the same couldn't be said about the rest of my body.

This is my second pair of La Sportiva shoes and i’m a big fan. They hug my foot in a way no other brands due, have soles that provide traction on a variety of surfaces, and last well.

I wore them for the first time on a 12 mile hike, and I had no blisters. Very comfy, lightweight, and a good grip. Wore them hiking in Zion and they were perfect for those trails too.

After trying several pairs in store, I found These were the perfect combo: rugged but flexible for trail running. I used them on a trail run the next day and they were awesome!

Gave 4 stars even though returned because they seem like great shoes. Although my LaSportiva hiking boots fit perfectly in a size 7, these in a size 7 were too small.

Really wanted to like these. tried 3 different times and got blisters 3 miles in :(. Maybe just not a good fit for my foot. Never had blisters in other shoes before.

Great shoe for walking and hiking. It’s very comfortable even when walking all day. I did not use them for running. Did not get blisters! I recommend trying them.

I love these shoes. I started trail running to train for a marathon. These shoes are everything I need, light, breathable, great heel to toe, & shock resistant.

The only thing that would make this shoe better is if it were waterproof. It gets great traction on sand as well as mud! True to size and comfortable.

Each step is just very soft and cushioned. This is the third pair of La Sportiveas I have owned. I was so excited to find this brand and my size.

Love these shoes! Lightweight, great grip, nice color! I also appreciate the terrific service from the sales associate who helped me!

I've had these shoes for almost a year. They have never rubbed me wrong and my next shoe will be a La Sportiva Trail-Running Shoe.

Love the support, light shoe great for trail runs and hikes as well. Had the previous model and had to get these as well.

Like the shoes!.Had to return the old one because of broken material on the shoe. I hope this one are holding up better!

We did a day hike and these were great shoes! Not sure about hardcore hiking but they are great for a day hike!

The tennis shoes is great the orthopedic feature is what sold me it really hugs your feet and is so comfortable

Excellent shoes with maximum level of comfort. I definitely recommend La Sportiva shoes

Love these shoes, so comfortable. Wear them to the gym and do some jogging too :)

Love these shoes! Moment I put them on they fit perfectly. I

The most comfortable shoes I had for hiking on a long time.

I bought these shoes on the enthusiastic recommendation of an REI employee and after reading lots of positive reviews on this site. The employee I spoke to assured me that they would be great in basically any situation--including the long-distance backpacking trip I had planned. Not so. I can't speak to whether or not these are good trail-runners, but I would NOT recommend them for any sort of long-distance backpacking or hiking trip.
